The festival observed by Nanda Maharaja, Lord Krsna’s father, to celebrate Lord Krsna’s appearance. The Nandotsav - Birth ceremony of Lord Sri Krishna Taken from Srimad Bhagavatam 10th Canto, 5th Chapter, translated by H.D.G. Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.  As described in this chapter, Nanda Maharaja very gorgeously performed the birth ceremony for his newborn child. Ananta Caturdasi Vrata : Appearance Day of Padmanabha

There are no indications that Gaudiya Vaisnavas perform any extra functions or austerities for this vrata. The fourteenth day in the bright fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada is known as anantana vrata.The Lord Ananta Padmanabha is invoked in a pot filled with water and decorated with coconut and flowers. Third Month of Caturmasya Begins

Third month: No milk (if required, it can be mixed with a drop of lemon juice). Caturmasya stands for ‘four months’. It is the period between sayana and uttana ekadasis.
